About digiteyes.net

digiteyes.net is the personal web space for web developer, Kobina deGraft-Johnson. This site is primarily designed to be a portfolio presence for Kobina but it has evolved to into an experimental space and general dumping ground for my designs and ideas.

I am currently a multimedia web designer working for a design company that foucuses on developing eLearning solutions to many fortune 100 companies. My major strongsuit is application development. I primarily develop applications in Coldfusion. Coldfusion offers me a solid, and easy way to develop enterprise level, rich internet applications for users. With the release of Coldfusion MX 7 the Coldfusion platform is stronger than ever. I also have experience with other programming languages including PHP and ASP. My next goal is to tackle the .NET framework and I am currently teaching myself ASP.NET.

This site has been through a lot of changes over the last three years since its debut in 2002. This version which has been around for roughly two years now is nearing its end. So when is the new site coming out? well soon as I can settle down on a very solid an breathtaking design. I am trying to eventually convert this site into a web designer resource. The next iteration of this site will be built entirely around CSS and XHTML. and designed to adhere to section 508 and other usability centered web standards. As my knowledge of Flash is steadily increasing I hope to incorporate some Flash based elements in here. Eventually I plan on moving the site to a new server that would allow me to showcase some of my Flash / Coldfusion based applications.

You may notice that this site is still under construction and several modules are still missing from the site. It is my intention to get the site up and running by the end of October. I managed to dig out all my old designs that I had stored on various media, so i will be showcasing those really soon.

Design Theory

I dont claim to be an Aristotle of web design. My theory and approach to any design / project is simple. How best to satisfy a client's need without ultimately corrupting design ideas and web standards.

In all my work I try to incorporate as much knowledge that I have learned from the millions of developers / designers out there that make a living out of this kind of work and take a cue from their mistakes and improve my own skillsets.

So what can I bring to the table? Dedication, perseverance, attention to detail and an overall "good-eye" for solid desgin work.
