Synopsis

The SCG Learning Planner, is a tool that allows managers within the group to identify areas a participant needs improving. The system identify a gap in skil levels for a set of defined skills for each participant and recommends courses the participant needs to take in order to close this gap. The system then synchronises with the LMS to update a participants record within the tool when those courses have been completed. The tool gives managers the ability to determine which memembers of their organization need improvement and can identify which skill areas need improvement as well.

I was tasked with developing this system from scratch. The system was closely modelled after an ASP based application which was used for a similar purpose. My role in this project involved, planning, site layout / design, database architecture as well as coding and interacting with the users of the application to gain more feedback. The system tied in with not only the LMS but also the AT&T LDAP server to peform actions such as user authentication / and validation of user information.
